When 23-year-old Blessing enrolled in our Youth Skills Empowerment Program, she had a sewing machine, a dream, and very little else. Twelve weeks later, she had a business plan, a growing client base, and a loan from our seed-funding pool to purchase additional equipment.
Blessing is just one of hundreds of young Nigerians whose lives have been transformed through the Akan Ime Foundation's vocational and digital skills training initiative. We train young people aged 18 to 35 in practical, market-ready skills ranging from tailoring and catering to web design, digital marketing, and agribusiness.
Our approach is holistic: technical training is paired with entrepreneurship education, mentorship from industry professionals, and access to microfinance support. We do not just teach people skills — we equip them to build sustainable livelihoods.
